A WORD ABOUT BLASTING TILE
Though sandblasted glass is Lori’s forte, she has also blasted a lot of tile. There are some restrictions with
blasting tile. First it must be smooth so that the masking will adhere. Glazed ceramic tile blasts very well since you can blast off the glaze and reveal the clay underneath which has a very high contrast
effect. Polished stone, especially polished granite looks great too. The contrast is between the polished areas and the sandblasted area which gives the stone a matt finish. Glass tile is also suitable for blasting.
If you want some sandblasted detailing on your tile, contact Lori before you buy the tile to make sure it is something that can be blasted.
Custom design on tile is available. There is a quantity requirement and a design fee for custom work. Lori has a portfolio of
designs you can choose from for a semi-custom job. This is more cost effective than going custom. Some of the designs available can be seen here.
